Pungry’s Thirsty: Dad’s Old Fashioned Root Beer America’s Premium Root Beer

Ah, this soda takes me back to my younger days. Back to when I first found out I was a soda hipster. See, back then, in the good ol’ days as they’re called, I went to dances. Dances that did not have alcohol, but did have a great soda selection. I’ve always liked root beer over other sodas, but I would only ever see Barq’s or Mug’s root beer anywhere until I went to one of these dances and discovered Dad’s Root Beer at the bottom of the ice bucket. I thought it was the best-tasting root beer at the time since it seemed to taste different from the mass produced root beers at fast food restaurants.

Imagine my shock when I found out this was a mass produced root beer!

Probably purely for nostalgic reasons, Dad’s Root Beer still tastes pretty good to me. At the very least, it has some sweetness to it whereas similar sodas (like Gene Autry) don’t even have that.

To make up for it, here is the song of the year. Watch Me by Silento.
